Pittsburgh Technical College Launches Robotics & Autonomous Tech Program
The Pittsburgh Technical College is adding a new Robotics and Autonomous Engineering Technology Program (RAET) to its roster, with classes set to begin at the start of the new academic term.
What is the RAET Program?
The Robotics and Autonomous Engineering Technology Program is a new 18-month associate degree program developed through a partnership between the Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) and Aurora Innovation, a Pittsburgh-based company and leader in autonomous driving innovation.
With its first group of students set to begin on October 11, 2022, the program takes a hands-on, multi-disciplinary approach to training skilled service engineer technicians—aka the professionals who build, maintain, and customize robotic and autonomous systems. The program includes a combination of PTC’s electronics, mechanical engineering, electrician, and information systems (IT) technology curriculums, including hands-on, real-world experience.
Students will complete on-site internships to help integrate them into a workplace environment. They will also have the opportunity to participate in “Industry Days”, which provide exposure to employers through field trips, guest speakers, job shadowing, and more!
